Modeling the nanoparticle drug delivery in tumor tissues
We developed a mathematical model to investigate the effects of various physiological parameters, such as the molecular weight and plasma half-life of a drug, on the nanoparticle drug delivery. The mathematical model realized via MATLAB was used to study temporal and spatial distributions of nanoparticle carriers, as well as accumulative concentrations in tissues. Other factors that influence the interstitial delivery in tumors also include vascular density, vascular permeability and interstitial diffusivity and drug half-life in circulation.
